I went for plastic middle of the road price. My teacher gave me 2. After using all of them on and off, I didn’t like any of them but 1 thinner on that was a gift from the teacher. I ordered Tree Picks after seeing their ad. My brother works with many types of wood so I knew they all had different tones. I love my Maple pick! It makes everything so mellow sounding. Just what I love about the guitar. Buy them and discover your best one.

Love the feel. Remarkable how well it sticks to your finger and thumb with just a tiny touch of moisture. Haven't yet been able to distinguish one wood from another. I'll give it a go when I put in my hearing aids...

These picks are beautiful, and while they might take a bit of time to get used to if you normally use a plastic pick, it's worth it for the different sounds you get from them. Beyond the amazing product, customer service was exceptional, delivery was timely, and everything was securely packed. Highly recommend.

Great price on a Canadian product that gives back! The colours of the wood are beautiful, the order arrived quickly, and communication was personalized and friendly.

I received my order of the guitar picks sample pack yesterday and immediately spent a couple of hours noodling around on various guitars trying to get a feel for them (a Yamaha acoustic, a Godin Radium- solid body- and 5th Avenue - Hollow body, and my modded out Squire CV strat.

While the picks felt odd initially and lack the flexibility i'm used to ( .73 mm plastic) my hands adapted pretty quickly and I found that my lead playing actually became more precise as I was forced to loosen my traditional death grip on the pick.

The dynamic range introduced by the selection of picks in the sample pack was a great place to start. I found the Cherry and Maple to be my favourites for my acoustic with the Cherry offering a warmer tone while the Maple and Walnut producing a brighter sound. Walnut was my choice for my Godin Radium and the 5Th Avenue. To my ear it bought out the best sounds on both instruments.

An unexpected favourite was the chunky Zebra Wood pick (1.6 mm.) At first it felt like trying to play with a quarter, but after a couple of minutes I adjusted and it just rocked. Clean to crunchy it offers a clean crisp attack and really makes the instrument sing.

I did have a concerns with durability as I tend to be a tad heavy handed, but the picks held up under some heavy Rock & Roll and I feel a lot more confident now that I've had the chance to use the picks.

I would definitely recommend starting with the sample pack as it presents a good picture of the tonal possibilities inherent in the product. I'll be buying more once I've settled on two or three favourites, but i will probably keep a few of the others close by for those moment when the recording needs that particular voice.

Adam at Tree Picks was great and really went out of his way to make sure I felt taken care of, you can feel the pride in in the way he speaks about his company.

P.S. (Adam, please consider making a small, easy access, spring loaded, branded wooden case to hold the picks I am otherwise going to lose.)

I bought these to give as a as a gift, but I am not a guitar player. What I can attest to is the craftsmanship, which to my eye looks superb! I love to buy Canadian, support crafters and artists, and avoid plastics. This purchase ticks all the boxes, and I feel confident the recipient will be pleased!
